Marker/Demonstrator Integrated Science Program

Demonstrator 45 hours to support the 1st year Writing and Research Project component of the Integrated Science Program by providing in lab and remote technical support for microbiology research projects conducted on soil bacteria and antibiotics. Support delivery of the research project as needed, in consultation with the project supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology in progress. Relevant research experience in microbiology, and an interest in teaching lab techniques are essential. Previous experience with the Integrated Science Program is an asset.

TA35 Integrated Science Program 1st year Writing and Research Project

Support the first-year writing and research project component of the Integrated Science program by providing feedback on writing assignments submitted by seven first-year students conducting research projects on soil bacteria and antibiotics. Written assignments include an annotated bibliography, topic sentence outline, and one draft of a formal research paper. Provide written feedback on papers and return assignments within one week. Follow the Integrated Science writing class guidelines. Meet with students to discuss their work.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Undergraduate degree completed in Microbiology and Immunology. Graduate degree in microbiology completed or in progress. Relevant research experience in microbiology, and an interest in teaching scientific writing and research skills are essential. Previous experience marking formal writing, is an asset. Previous experience with an Integrated Science Program is an asset.
