The Writing Centre held its annual Writing Week for Graduate Students from June 8th-June 12th, 2020 in its new online format. It was one of the most successful weeks we have had! Students benefited from the structural week that focused on accountability (i.e., goal setting in the morning and reporting activity at the end of the day). Students also enjoyed the online community – one where they could talk about their writing, challenges, issues, supervisory relationships, strategies, and so much more. They enjoyed seeing each other's children and pets roaming around – they even had a visit from a family pig.
The students were keen on the week continuing, so we are happy to announce that we will be holding sessions every Monday at 9:00am ADT (goal setting) and 4:00pm ADT (activity reporting) from now until September. They meet together informally throughout the rest of the week, using the same Collaborate link.
Additionally, the Writing Centre will be hosting a second Writing Week for Graduate Students (a full week of daily sessions) from July 20th-25th, 2020.
