Today marks the 4th annual Caregiver Appreciation Day at Dalhousie. Many of us care for extended family members and juggle the many joys, responsibilities and impacts of this role.
Dalhousie has online resources dedicated to the topic of caregiving on MyDal, including a summary of community agencies and programs collected for you all in one spot and a set of guidelines for you and your supervisor to help have conversations about needs at work.
Dal also has a caregiver support group that meets every two months, with a growing contact list of 53 people.
To acknowledge the contribution of caregivers or to educate yourself on the issues related to caregiving, we recommend the following YouTube video, “The hidden role informal caregivers play in health care”
