Postdoctoral Fellow Position – Cancer Cell Biology

Dalhousie University invites applications from qualified highly-motivated candidates for a full-time, one-year term postdoctoral position in Cancer Cell Biology

Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellow will be conducting an industry-involved exciting research project on assessment of natural antioxidants in the reduction of carcinogen-induced DNA damage using multiple experimental cell model systems. Investigations will also be extended to understand the potential mechanisms that involved regulation of DNA damage repair signaling and cellular redox homeostasis.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, natural product chemistry or related discipline within the last five years. He/she should have demonstrated prior experience in working with cell cultures, western blots, PCR, and immunohistochemistry-based assays. Also, experience with statistical analysis will be an asset.

Location: Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University (Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada) and Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada). The primary location of the research will be at the Faculty of Agriculture under the supervision of Dr. Vasantha Rupasinghe of the Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Science. It is also required to performed a part of the research at the Faculty of Medicine under the guidance of Dr. Graham Dellaire of the Department of Pathology.

Period: The earliest start date is May 01, 2019 for one-year term.

Annual stipend: Can$37,000 to 42,000
