POSITION: CUPE Part-Time Academic - Applied Study in Piano  (January
1 – April 30, 2019)

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Fountain School of Performing Arts         

PAY RATE:  As per CUPE Collective Agreement                                                       

WORK ASSIGNMENT: A Part-Time Academic is required to teach the Applied Study in Piano from January 1 to April 30, 2019. Duties include but are not limited to: teaching individual piano lessons and a performance class weekly; following the established course outline; adjudication of final piano juries and recitals; coordination of student ensemble requirements; grade submission as per department guidelines; program and schedule 3 -4 piano noon-hour recitals during the term; announcing end of term student ratings/evaluations of instruction. The successful candidate will work in consultation with the full-time Piano faculty and report to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Minimum of a MMus or its equivalent in Piano Performance and/or Pedagogy; significant professional experience in performance; proven successful pedagogical experience as a piano teacher; excellent communication skills; computer literacy. The weekly hourly commitment is 12 to 15 contact hours.
