POSITION: PHYT 6140.06 Neuroscience for Physiotherapy [Fall term, September 4 – December 16, inclusive of Exam Period]
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Physiotherapy, Carleton Campus
PAY RATE: In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 6140 is a 6-credit hour course, offered in collaboration with OCCU 6140: Neuroscience for Occupational Therapy. This course is co-taught with faculty from the School of Occupational Therapy
This course in neuroscience will expose entry-level physiotherapy and occupational therapy students to the foundational and advanced neuroanatomical and neurophysiological concepts and knowledge needed for evidence-based practice in neuro-rehabilitation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic
- Co-teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Respond to student queries about coursework in collaboration with the other Co-Course Professor
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Neuroscience. Prior teaching experience an asset. PhD preferred.
