Start on Track ‑ Online (Dalhousie's online orientation program) is now open to new undergraduate students

Posted by Student Affairs Communications on June 27, 2018 in General Announcements

Start On Track - Online is a program for new undergraduate students to prepare them for their first year at Dalhousie University. Over the summer, eight free online modules will be released on different topic areas including: academic readiness, managing finances and budgeting, health and wellness, alcohol and substance use safety, consent and sexualized violence, community and citizenship, using the libraries and about academic integrity. These topic areas are informed by the university's strategic priorities, institutional survey data and research related to helping students prepare for a successful transition to university.

Offered through Brightspace, the modules will also help students become familiar with the learning management system they'll be using for their classes. Faculty and staff are encouraged to check out the modules (you can request access by emailing studentlife@dal.ca with your faculty, department and NetID) and promote them as a resource to new students.

As an added incentive, if students complete all 8 of the modules their name will be entered in a draw to win $1000 in tuition prizes (drawn in September). They will also receive Co-Curricular Record accreditation. Modules will remain open after the prize draws. Learn more at dal.ca/ontrack
