Fitness Centre construction affecting water and South Street access ‑ May 9 and 10

Posted by Facilities on May 5, 2017 in Facilities Management

Please be advised Dexter Construction Company Ltd. will be making a water line connection on South Street as part of the new Dalhousie Fitness Centre construction on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10.

Due to the work required, South St. will be closed from Oxford St. to Lemarchant St. from 9 a.m.  to 8 p.m. both days. This includes bus stops. Detours will be in place at this time. The road will be closed to all vehicle traffic with the exception of emergency vehicles and local traffic. All streets will remain open to pedestrian traffic at all times.

Access to the Dalplex lot, Shirreff Driveway and Alumni Crescent will all remain functional.

This work also means that the domestic water service will be shut down to the Henry Hicks and Chase Buildings for one day only, Tuesday May 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Washrooms in both buildings will be closed for the day, and staff are asked to use facilities located in the adjoining LSC Building. No sprinkler systems will be affected.
