POSITION: Demonstrator - 90 hours

PERIOD OF WORK: April 27-May 20, 2017

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Assist the instructor (Dr. Andy Horn) with the summer class Biology 3630.03, Field Methods in Animal Behavior. Duties include: Answering questions, offering feedback, and being available for any safety issues in the field; marking exercises; organizing equipment and supplies; and logistics and preparation for the field trips.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: B.Sc. in Biology or a related field, experience in independent field research on animal behavior at the graduate level or equivalent is essential, as is standard first-aid and CPR certification. Good physical condition - some moderate physical labour is required.

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Summer SEASIDE program, Biology
PAY RATE: as per CUPE agreement
PERIOD OF WORK: April 27-May 20, 2017

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Assist the instructors with the summer class MARI 3682: Tropical Marine Biology (Belize field course). Duties may include assisting with the supervision and evaluation of student-led discussions and presentations, labs, and field exercises; and helping with the logistics of the course, including gathering supplies and equipment and posting material on Brightspace.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: B.Sc. in Marine Biology or a related field; previous marine field experience; standard level or better first aid and CPR; strong swimmer; comfortable snorkeling in the ocean. Previous experience with the course and/or in conducting research in Belize or other parts of Central America is an asset.
