Full‑Time Limited Term Positions ‑ School of Nursing

Limited Term Appointments at the Rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

Dalhousie University School of Nursing is seeking outstanding educators for two full-time, limited term positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  Appointments will be effective July 1, 2017.  One position is a 1-year limited term and the second position is a 3-year limited term. All appointments are subject to budgetary approval.

At the time of appointment, successful candidates will have completed a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing, and have demonstrated a commitment to developing excellence in their teaching and practice.  Self-directedness and the ability to work collaboratively in a team teaching environment is essential.

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching and supervision of undergraduate and/or graduate students, and contributing to academic/collegial life of the School.  Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in community mental health nursing, acute medicine and surgery, geriatrics, and health informatics. As well, a background in some combination of leadership, knowledge mobilization, diversity in healthcare, interprofessional education and distance and context-based learning, and/or clinical simulation would be assets.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.

Limited Term Appointment at the Rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

Dalhousie University School of Nursing is seeking an outstanding educator for a full-time, three-year, Limited Term position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  Appointment will be effective July 1, 2017. All appointments are subject to budgetary approval.

At the time of appointment, successful candidates will have completed a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing, with nurse practitioner specialization and have demonstrated a commitment to developing excellence in their teaching and practice.  Self-directedness and the ability to work collaboratively in a team teaching environment is essential.

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching and supervision of undergraduate and/or graduate students, and contributing to academic/collegial life of the School.  The School is looking for a practicing Nurse Practitioner currently holding, or eligible for a university faculty appointment to educate and prepare nurses for advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate recent evidence of NP clinical practice, and be eligible for registration as a NP with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia. A background in some combination of leadership, knowledge mobilization, diversity in healthcare, interprofessional education and distance and context-based learning, and/or clinical simulation would be assets.
