Welcome to Matthew Guy, Director, Student Services for the Agricultural Campus

Verity Turpin, Assistant Vice-Provost, Student Affairs, is pleased to welcome Matthew Guy as Director, Student Services, for Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus for a two-year term.

Matthew will be the senior leader in Student Affairs responsible for oversight, leadership and hands-on engagement for student retention practices and student services operations for students on the Agricultural Campus. He will work strategically and actively to build on existing services for students, partnering with student leaders and collaborating with colleagues at both campuses to encourage students’ development in all aspects of their academic success and personal development. Matthew will work directly with the Student Services, AC team to deliver student leadership and academic support skills, international student support, career services, health services, orientation, and administrative assistance.

Matthew brings over 10 years of progressive experience in the university environment. For the past five years, he has worked as the manager, Residence Life at Acadia University, and currently serves as the president of the Atlantic Association of College and University Student Services (AACUSS), a role that he has held since 2015 after a four-year stint as the organization’s secretary.

A native of Bury St. Edmonds in Suffolk, England, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Housing Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University (now Leeds Beckett University).
