INTD 2106.03/GEOG 2206.03 This course will focus on contemporary Africa. Stereotypical portrayals of Africa will be examined and critiqued with the goal of emphasizing the immensity, diversity, and complexity of the continent in order to better understand the opportunities and challenges of African development in the 21st century. 

The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading, and administration of the class and is to be available for two hours per week outside of class times for students. The class is offered in the winter semester on Tuesday and Thursday, 10:05-11:25. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the department.

INTD 4001.03/INTD 5003.03 Topic: Religion and Development. This class will analyze the role of religion in International Development. the approaches of the major faiths to development will be examined, and the influence of religion--individually and institutionally, directly and indirectly, currently and historically--on development will be considered. 

The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading, and administration of the class and is to be available for two hours per week outside of class times for student consultation. The class is offered during the winter semester on Wednesday, 13:35-16:25. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the department.

PhD in IDS or closely related field. Experience & expertise in interdisciplinary approaches to development studies.
