Employment Opportunity: Registrar’s Office – On-Campus Recruitment and Admissions Officer (10-month contract)

The On Campus Recruitment and Admissions Officer provides prospective students and influencers with information to determine if the University of King’s College and Dalhousie University are a positive choice given a student’s interests and aspirations by organizing the campus tours, open houses and student ambassador activities. In addition, this position provides administrative and clerical support for admission and recruitment, and back up for front-line enrolment services.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities
The On-Campus Recruitment and Admissions Officer is responsible for the following:
• Organizes and implements the campus-based recruitment programme. This includes, but is not limited to, year-round campus tours, undergraduate open houses, class visits by high schools, counsellor and agent visits to campus.
• Trains, coordinates and supervises the campus tour guides and student ambassadors.
• Participates in off-campus recruitment outreach (school visits and events).
• Implements follow-up plans for prospective students, parents, independent school counselors, teachers, agents and other key influencers.
• Supports planning of external recruitment events, IB conferences, events and school outreach. Books venues and catering, develops plans, publicity and invitations, schedules participation of internal participants as needed.
• Coordinates liaison with Alumni in recruitment.
• Implements follow-up and service for prospective students using facebook, twitter and instagram.
• Processes inquiries, including inquiry contact cards, email, phone calls.
• Processes admission applications, including data entry, filing, application processing, admission decisions, letter generation, file preparation for committees, sorts and manages all incoming/outgoing correspondence.
• Supports front office staff with student service, data entry and academic form completion.
• Provides logistical support for the recruitment team, which includes scheduling visits, sending recruitment supplies and off campus event scheduling .

Qualifications
Education – Undergraduate degree preferred with experience in marketing and communication.
Experience - Experience in public speaking and representative roles is required. Superb oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidates should have administrative experience and competency with Microsoft Office suite. A valid driver’s license is required.

Salary: $18.00/hour plus 4% vacation pay and benefits
Starting Date: Monday, August 4 – May 30, 2016 (10 month contract)

• Represents the college at post-secondary events and college fairs throughout Canada and the United States.
• Promotes the university by delivering presentations to high schools, universities, colleges and the general public.
• Maintains relationships with high school personnel and provides up-to-date information to counselors.
• Schedules school visits and travel.
• Assists with inbound recruitment initiatives and events, including open house and campus tour programmes.
• Assists with admissions processing, including application entry and data entry.
