A fun 'tablet' natural user interface study is recruiting participants

Posted by Faculty of Computer Science on August 26, 2014 in General Announcements

We are recruiting participants to take part in a research study examining the effectiveness of a privacy-aware tablet interface design. The study will be conducted in public places on Dalhousie University campus (e.g.,SUB) and will take about one hour to complete. Compensation is $15 for each participant.

To participate you:
-- Need to use a tablet PC (e.g. iPad, Android tablet, Windows Surface, etc.) on a regular basis (at least once a month).
-- Have experienced privacy concerns about others viewing your screen as you were conducting activities on the tablet
-- Agree to be videotaped while performing the study.

Prior to meeting for the study, you will go online to give consent to do the study, and fill in a short background questionnaire. During the study, you will perform a set of tasks with various designs displayed on a tablet PC and give feedback on the designs. At the end you will participate in a short interview.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Huiyuan Zhou (hzhou @cs.dal.ca).
