POSITION: Part-Time Academic

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Spanish & Latin American Studies

PAY RATE:     In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT:  To teach SPAN 3036.03 – Advanced Spanish II currently scheduled in the Winter term (M,W,F, 9:35-10:25 am) – January-April, 2015.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation. This will also include being available to consult with students. The position reports to the Chair of the department.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and Spanish language teaching experience at the University level. Please provide evidence of teaching effectiveness as well as a letter of application and CV.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation. The position reports to the Chair of the department.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Minimum B.A. in Portuguese, plus at least five years language teaching experience required; teaching experience at the University level is preferred. Native or near-native fluency Portuguese and English required. Formal training in second-language acquisition desirable.
