Coastal Zone Canada 2014 Conference in Halifax, June 15‑19th

Halifax, Nova Scotia will host Canada’s premier international conference on coastal and ocean issues June 15-19th 2014. The Coastal Zone Canada Conference (CZC2014) will bring together participants from around the globe to assess benefits and threats to our coasts and oceans. Participants will work together to develop and evaluate effective approaches for realizing socio-economic and environmental benefits from the World’s coastal zones. A primary goal of the collaboration will be to identify ways to sustain commitment and momentum concerning coastal and ocean management.

The first of ten biennial Coastal Zone Canada conferences was held in Halifax in 1994. The conference returns to its origins and plans are underway for the best CZC Conference ever with theme sessions covering:

> Blue Economy
> Coastal geomorphology and ecosystems
> Community-Centered Adaptation

> Digital Oceans
> Does Information Matter?
> Fisheries governance
> Gulf of Maine experience in understanding and managing resources

> Management of our coasts and oceans
> Managing our Archaeological Resources

> Outreach and Public engagement
> Partnership for Canada-Caribbean Climate Change Adaptation

> Remote sensing and coastal mapping
> Salt marshes, sediments and coastal erosion

> Youth Workshop on Coastal Futures
