A power outage, with subsequent generator coverage, is scheduled for the Tupper Building, beginning on Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 am and lasting for approximately four days, until 6:00 pm on December 20th. Please be assured that during this time, full building power will be supplied by the Tupper emergency generator and there will be no loss of power. This outage is planned as part of a maintenance program for electrical equipment around campus.

In the unlikely event that the generator fails, all faculty, staff and students except essential animal care staff must leave the building as there will be no power, no heat and no lighting in the building. The building will be closed until a second back-up generator (which is onsite) is connected which could take up to six hours. Once the second back-up generator is connected the building will reopen. In the event of building closure, Communications and Marketing will be sending an email to all faculty/staff at Dal as well as updating the dal.ca homepage and myDal.
