Dean of Dentistry Tom Boran to take part in Make‑A‑Wish's Rope for Hope

Posted by Dentistry/Communications and Marketing on June 20, 2013 in Community Highlights

On Friday, June 21, between 9 and 10 a.m., Tom Boran, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, will be gathering his courage and rappelling 30 storeys down Fenwick Tower. The event is Rope for Hope, an annual event to raise funds for Make-A-Wish. Dr. Boran has more than doubled his $1,500 goal, and continues to rally support as his big descent approaches.

Below is Dr. Boran's message. Feel free to come out and watch tomorrow!

This June I am gathering my courage and participating in Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope, rappelling 30 storeys down the Fenwick Tower on Friday, June 21. I am doing this to help grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions.  A "wish come true" helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses - and YOU can help make a difference, too!

The funds raised will allow the Make-A-Wish® Foundation to continue to create powerful wish experiences, improving a child’s state of mind, replacing fear with happiness and helping them to feel like a normal kid again.  To learn more about Make-A-Wish®, please visit their website.

Big or small, every donation counts. Please visit my Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope profile and together, we can help move Make-A-Wish closer to their vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in communities across Canada.

Thank you! I truly appreciate your support for such a wonderful cause. So on June 21st if you are near Fenwick Tower watch for the Dalhousie Spiderman!! It will be a lot of fun!
