Top Honour Received by School of Public Administration Professor

Professor Paul Brown has been named the 2012 recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Medal for Excellence in Public Administration. 

This is a significant achievement for Dr. Brown that brings added prestige to the School of Public Administration, the Faculty of MAnagement and Dalhousie University. Paul will formally receive recognition by His Honour, the Lieutenant Governor, at a ceremony at Government House this fall. He will be joined by 2012 MPA graduates, Siobhan Shears and Juanita Spencer, who will be the recipients of this year's student awards, as announced at convocation. 

The Lieutenant Governor's Medal of Excellence, sponsored by KPMG, recognizes exceptional achievement in public administration and encourages quality service in all orders of government. The Medal and certificate are presented at an annual ceremony by the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, patron of the award. 

The award criteria states that recipients should have significantly changed the performance or delivery of public administration in Nova Scotia, and that they will have made a unique and outstanding contribution to public administration in the federal, provincial, municipal or academic fields.
