Dalhousie University presents our PepsiCo Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 5, 2024.
Lucy Glen-Carter, Volleyball
Fifth-year outside hitter Lucy Glen-Carter is this week’s female PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.
Lucy led the Tigers to two important wins over cross-town rivals, the Saint Mary’s Huskies this past weekend. On Friday night, Lucy had a game-high 21 kills and added 10 digs to seal the 3-1 victory. The following night at the Homburg Centre, she added 11 more kills in the Tigers 3-0 win.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario Lucy is a physiotherapy student.

Owen Purcell, Curling
Fifth-year skip Owen Purcell is this week’s male PepsiCo Athlete of the week.
Owen led the Tigers to successfully defending their AUS title for the fifth time this past weekend. After the round robin, the Tigers held a 3-1 record and first place heading into the playoffs. On Sunday the Tigers defeated the X-Men 9-3 in seven ends in the semifinal. They followed that up with an 8-5 win over Saint Mary’s in the final.
A computer science student, Owen is from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia.
