PepsiCo Athletes of the Week (Feb. 5)

Dalhousie University presents our PepsiCo Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Talia Vydykhan, Volleyball

Third-year outside hitter Talia Vydykhan is this week’s female PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.

Talia led the Tigers to two victories over the Memorial Sea-Hawks this weekend. In the game on Friday, she had a game-high 11 kills and 10 digs on her way to being named the player of the game. On Saturday, she added seven more kills to her season total and nine more digs. She also recorded 2 service aces. Talia has a team-high 134 kills this season.

Hailing from Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Talia is a therapeutic recreation student.

Nginyu Ngala, Basketball

Third-year guard Nginyu Ngala is this week’s male PepsiCo Athlete of the week.

In the lone game for the Tigers this weekend, Nginyu led the Tigers with a game-high 24 points in their win over UPEI. He shot 100 percent from the free throw line, pulled in four rebounds, and snagged four steals. Nginyu has 238 points this season, second highest on the Tigers and is shooting 89 percent from the free throw line.

A management student, Nginyu is from Montreal, Quebec.
