Dalhousie University presents our PepsiCo Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Grace Beer, Hockey

Second-year goaltender Grace Beer is this week’s female PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.

Grace started both games for the Tigers this weekend, backstopping them to a 2-1 win over UPEI on Saturday night. She posted a 0.964 save percentage in the win, stopping 26 of the 27 shots she faced and made several highlight-reel worth saves in the third period to preserve the win. Grace is currently second in the league in save percentage with 0.938.

A recreation student, Grace is from Oakville, Ontario.

Jacob Benoit, Cross country

Fourth-year runner Jacob Benoit is this week’s male PepsiCo Athlete of the week.

After winning two races this season leading up to the AUS championship, Jacob capped off the AUS cross country season with a gold medal on Saturday. He crossed the line in a time of 25.34, in first place and 14 seconds ahead of the silver medalist.  The win earned him AUS Male Athlete of the Year for cross country and an AUS first-team all-star nod.

An MBA student, Jacob is from Windsor, Nova Scotia.
