Dalhousie University presents our PepsiCo Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 20, 2022.
Volleyball player Julie Moore and track and field athlete Lorena Heubach are this week’s PepsiCo Co-Female Athletes of the Week.
Julie Moore, Volleyball
A fourth-year outside hitter, Julie led the Tigers to their ninth-consecutive AUS Championship title last week.
She had 20 kills, 20 digs, three blocks and two aces in the Tigers 3-1 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies in game one of the best of three 2022 Subway AUS Women’s Volleyball Championship and was named the Subway Player of the Game for her effort.
Julie earned Subway Player of the Game honours again in game two the following day with 18 kills, six digs, a block and an ace in the Tigers 3-0 win to win their ninth-consecutive AUS championship title.
An AUS first-team all-star, she was named the championship MVP.
Julie is a commerce student from Halifax, N.S.
Lorena Heubach, Track & Field
A fourth-year combined events athlete, Lorena helped lead the Tigers to their 32nd-consecutive AUS Championship title over the weekend.
She won four of the five events to capture the women’s pentathlon by more than 200 points on the first day of competition. She has won the event in three times of her four seasons.
The defending U SPORTS Champion in the long jump, Lorena captured gold in the event for the second-consecutive season.
Lorena was named the female championship MVP and is currently ranked in the top 10 of both events heading into the national championships.
An engineering major, Lorena is from Wolfville, N.S.

Basketball player Keevan Veinot and track and field athlete Tobi Oshikoya are this week’s PepsiCo Co-Male Athletes of the Week.
Keevan Veinot, Basketball
Fourth-year guard Keevan Veinot averaged 23.3 points per game over the weekend to lead the Tigers to their third-consecutive AUS championship title.
He had 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists to be named the Subway Player of the Game in Thursday night’s quarter-final 86-69 win over the Acadia Axemen.
Keevan led the Tigers again in Saturday’s semifinal match up with the Memorial Sea-Hawks, netting 27 points along with six rebounds, two assists and a steal to win 87-85 to move onto the championship final. He was again named the Subway Player of the Game for Dalhousie.
In the Tigers championship final 84-78 win over the UPEI Panthers, Keevan scored 19 points and had nine assists, six rebounds and two steals.
An AUS first team all-star, Keevan was selected to the championship all-star team and was named the championship MVP.
A native of Port Williams, N.S., Keevan is a commerce student.
Tobi Oshikoya, Track & Field
Second-year jumper Tobi Oshikoya earned two gold medals at the 2022 Subway AUS Track and Field Championships over the weekend.
He won gold in the high jump with a leap of 1.95 metres and posted a distance of 14.32 metres to take first place in the triple jump. He also placed fifth in the long jump.
Tobi’s jumps were big personal best results and his triple jump places him fifth on Dalhousie’s all-time list.
A native of Truro, N.S., Tobi is an engineering student.
