(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 6, 2019.


Tara Morning, Hockey

Fourth-year forward Tara Morning is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Tara led the Tigers to a win and two losses last week with two goals and two assists.

She scored the lone goal for the Tigers in their 3-1 loss to the Saint Mary’s Huskies Wednesday, January 2.

On Friday night in Moncton, she had a goal and an assist in their 5-2 loss to the Aigles Bleues. The next day, she added another assist to bring her weekend total to four points in the Tigers 4-3 win over the visiting UNB Reds.

A commerce student, Tara is from Aurora, Ont.

Connor Hicks & Reilly Pickard, Hockey

First-year goaltenders Connor Hicks and Reilly Pickard are this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athletes of the Week.

Connor made 35 saves in the Tigers 1-0 win over the visiting StFX X-Men Friday night at the Halifax Forum.

He currently boasts a .902 save percentage in eight games played.

A native of Kanata, Ont., Connor is an arts student.

Reilly made 32 saves in the Tigers 3-0 loss to the Aigles Bleus Saturday night in Moncton.

He leads the AUS in saves made with 454 and is third in save percentage with a .917 in 13 games played.

A native of Halifax, N.S., Reilly is an arts student.
