(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Lorena Heubach, Track & Field

First-year pentahlete Lorena Heubach is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Lorena was fifth in the pentathlon at the U SPORTS track and field championships over the weekend.

She placed fourth in long jump, fifth in the high jump, seventh in the shot, 10th in the 800m and 13th in the 60m dash to earn the fifth-place ranking.

A science student, Lorena is from Wolfville, N.S.

Matthew Coolen, Track & Field

Third-year sprinter Matthew Coolen is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Matthew earned gold in the 60m dash at the U SPORTS track and field championship over the weekend.

He raced to a gold medal finish in a personal best time of 6.84 to win his first U SPORTS gold medal on Thursday.

He also placed fourth in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.34, missing the podium by just .01 seconds.

A native of Halifax, N.S., Matthew is an engineering student.
