Sophie Gaube, Basketball

Second-year guard Sophie Gaube is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Sophie had 32 points in two games last week.

In the Tigers 87-66 loss to Acadia, she had a game-high 26 points and added six rebounds and three assists Thursday night in Wolfville.

On Saturday night, she had six points in her 13 minutes on the court.

A science student, Gaube is from Hubley, N.S.

Corbin Boes, Hockey

Third-year goaltender Corbin Boes is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Corbin earned his first shut-out of the season in the Tigers 2-0 win over StFX.

In Wednesday night’s 2-0 victory, Boes faced 49 shots, earning his first shut-out of the season and was named the first star of the game for his efforts.

He kept the Tigers in the game on Friday, stopping 22 of the 26 shots he faced in the Tigers 4-2 loss to the Aigles Bleus in Moncton.

Boes is currently leading the AUS with a .932 save percentage. He has made 575 saves and boasts a goals against average of 2.62.

A native of Saskatoon, S.K., Boes is a commerce student.
