G2 Athletes of the Week (week ending September 11)

(Halifax, NS) Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 11, 2016.

Amanda Bowles, Soccer

Fourth-year defender Amanda Bowles is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Amanda provided a young Tigers squad steady and positive leadership and performance throughout the weekend at Memorial.

A kinesiology student, Amanda is from Burlington, O.N.

Freddy Bekkers, Soccer

Second-year midfielder Freddy Bekkers is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Bekkers led the Tigers to a tie and a win over the weekend in St. John’s N.L. He scored the game-tying goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Memorial in the 90th minute. He also set up the winning goal and led the midfield in tackles in Sunday’s 2-0 win over the Sea-Hawks.

A native of Halifax, N.S., Freddy is an engineering student.
