Phoebe Lenderyou (Swimming)

Second-year swimmer Phoebe Lenderyou is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Phoebe led the Tigers to their 15th consecutive AUS swimming championship over the weekend, collecting seven gold medals.

She won the 100 and 200m backstroke, 100m butterfly and 200m IM events. She set new Dal records in all four events and set new AUS records in the 100m butterfly, 200m backstroke and 200m IM events. She added three more gold medals as part of Dalhousie’s three relay winning teams, including the 4x100m, setting a new AUS record.

The AUS swimmer of the year, Phoebe was named the AUS swimmer of the meet for her efforts.

Phoebe is from Newcastle, England, and is a management student.

Gavin Dyke (Swimming)

Third-year swimmer Gavin Dyke is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Gavin led the Tigers to their 18th consecutive AUS swimming championship this past weekend.

He collected seven gold medals this weekend including wins in all three freestyle events (50m, 100m & 200m) and the 100m butterfly. He set new AUS and Dalhousie records in both the 100 and 200m freestyle events. He was also a member of all three of Dalhousie’s gold medal winning relay teams.

Gavin received AUS swimmer of the meet honours and was named the AUS swimmer of the meet at Frida’s championship luncheon.

A native of Mount Pearl, N.L., Gavin is an arts student.
