Seven Dalhousie women’s basketball players took some time out of their busy schedules to give back to the community at the Ronald McDonald House on Wednesday evening.

The Ronald McDonald House Atlantic Canada provides a home away from home for the families of seriously ill children who are staying at the IWK Children’s Hospital.

The ladies took part in the Home for Dinner program which provides families who are staying at the house a home cooked meal by a group or organization.

The Tigers prepared spaghetti and meatballs with a side of garlic bread for the families spending the night at the house. After dinner they spent some time hanging out with the kids.

“No one wanted to leave and we told them that we would be back again a few times to cook,” said fifth year guard, Robbi Daley.

The women’s basketball team will be back on the court on Friday, November 21 against Halifax rivals the Saint Mary’s Huskies. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. in the Dalplex.
