(Halifax, NS) Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 16, 2014.

Courtney Thompson, Basketball

Fifth-year guard Courtney Thompson is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Thompson led the Tigers to an 80-74 OT win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks Friday night. She netted 22 points in the victory and collected six rebounds, two assists and one steal. On Saturday, she was the Tigers leading scorer again with 30 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and three steals.

She currently leads the AUS and is second in the CIS, averaging 23.8 points per game.

A commerce student, Courtney is from Saint John, N.B.

Corbin Boes, Hockey

First-year goaltender Corbin Boes is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Boes made 32 saves in his first AUS shutout in Friday night’s 3-0 victory over the visiting St. Thomas Tommies. He faced another 37 shots, leading the Tigers to an overtime victory over the UPEI Panthers on Saturday night at the Forum.

He currently has the second best save percentage in the AUS with a .931.

A native of Saskatoon, S.K., Corbin is an arts student.
