Athletes of the Week (ending Nov. 11)

Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Monday, November 11, 2013.

Courtney Thompson, Basketball

Fourth-year guard Courtney Thompson led the Tigers to a 1-1 start to the regular season this past weekend.

In Friday’s match up, Courtney had seven assist and four steals in the Tigers 81-55 defeat of UNB. On Saturday, she led the charge again collecting 19 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Courtney is from Saint John, N.B. and is a commerce student.

Chris Ivanko, Hockey

Third-year forward Chris Ivanko showed tremendous tenacity and work ethic in Wednesday’s 5-2 loss to StFX.

Ivanko scored a goal and recorded an assist and blocked a number of shots in the Tigers seventh game of the season.

A native of Halifax, N.S., Chris is enrolled in Dalhousie’s recreation management program.
