Tigers shine at Sport NS awards

Five current Tigers (and two recent alums) were honoured at Sport Nova Scotia's 17th annual Ricoh Sports Awards on June 1, 2013.

Volleyball players Abby Czenze and Kristen O'Brien, who just finished their freshmen seasons with the Tigers, were named Volleyball Nova Scotia's female and male team athletes of the year respectively. Women's Tigers head coach Rick Scott was named coach of the year.

Fourth-year Tiger and Olympian David Sharpe was named Swim Nova Scotia's male individual athlete of the year.

Two former Tigers were also honoured for their performaces this past year. Swimmer Terri-Lynn Benison was named Swim Nova Scotia's female individual athlete of the year and 800m runner Geoff Harris (a former CIS gold medalist), was named Athletics Nova Scotia's male individual athlete of the year.
