The Dalhousie Tigers will be welcoming Olamide Ojuawo to the women’s basketball team next season. Ojuawo, a 6’ forward will graduate from Rothesay Netherwood School this June.

As a member of her high school basketball team she competed in the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association AA provincials and brought home a gold medal in 2011 and a silver in 2012. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the championship game in 2012. Olamide was also a member of the New Brunswick U16 provincial team in 2011.

Ojuawo has been accepted into Dalhousie’s Kinesiology program and is ready to get started with the black and gold squad. “I’m thrilled to move up to the next level in my basketball career with the Tigers.” explains Ojuawo.

Head coach of the Tigers Anna Stammberger is equally pleased to have Olamide on the roster. "Olamide is a strong student who brings a lot of positive energy to everything she does and is a welcome addition to the Dal Tigers roster as she's an athletic basketball player who plays much bigger than her actual size. She will give us more depth at the post position and with some work on her technical game, she should be a player to watch for in the future."
