The AUS defending champions came out flying with an outstanding performance against StFX on Friday. In the first half Dal took a commanding 3-1 lead that held for the remainder of the game. Emma Landry, Beth O’Reilly, and Bianca Jakisa all collected goals for the Tigers. Along with her goal, Landry's outstanding performance throughout the match earned her Subway Player of the Game.

On Sunday, the women took to Wickwire Field against Saint Mary’s. Having already bested the Huskies 3-0 in exhibition play this season, the Tigers faced a squad determined to withstand their pressure. The teams played a hard-fought match, with Dal out-shooting SMU, however both keepers played outstandingly and the game was held scoreless until the end. This Friday the Tigers travel to Antigonish for a rematch against the X-Women in hopes of another victory. They take on the Capers the following day.

Men’s Soccer

Friday’s men’s game versus StFX was a tough battle from the start and the first half ended scoreless. In the 53rd minute the X-Men took the lead, leaving the Tigers to attempt the comeback. Dal kept their spirits up and scored with seconds on the clock, but the officials called the goal off and the gamed ended in a loss for the Tigers.

On Sunday the black and gold took on SMU at Wickwire in a competitive match. The men held the game scoreless throughout the first half, but after an early goal in the second by the Huskies, they were unable to regain their momentum. Dal fell short of the victory 2-0. This weekend they are on the road and look to even the score with StFX on Friday and have their first meeting with CBU on Saturday.
