This week’s Dalhousie G2 Female Athlete of the Week is fifth-year hockey forward Robyn Nicholson. On Friday night versus Saint Mary’s, she collected a goal and an assist to help the Tigers to a 4-2 victory over the Huskies. Saturday afternoon Dal faced AUS second-place l’Universite de Moncton and in the third period found themselves down 2-0. In an incredible effort at the end of the game, Nicholson scored three goals in less than two minutes for the come-back win over les Aigles Blues. A native of Tatamagouche, N.S., she is a political science student at Dalhousie.

MALE – Kenneth Rauwerda
SPORT – Volleyball
Calgary, Alta. native and fourth-year volleyball offside Kenneth Rauwerda is this week’s Dalhousie G2 Male Athlete of the Week. This past weekend he led the Tigers to the 2012 AUS Championship title after two consecutive victories over the UNB Varsity Reds. In game one on Friday night he collected 24 points and 23 kills in Dal’s 3-1 win and on Sunday he recorded 24 points and 21 kills in the Tigers 3-1 triumph. Rauwerda was also named to the 2012 AUS All-Star team for his outstanding play on the court this season. He is enrolled in the chemistry program at Dalhousie.
