Data Privacy Day

- January 11, 2011

Intrigued by sessions entitled “Managing Your Digital Identity in the Social Media Age,” “How the Cookie Crumbles” or “The Bad Boys of Social Networking”?

Dalhousie's Information Technology Services (ITS) is marking Data Privacy Day by holding a half-day conference on January 26, from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. in the McInnes Room, Student Union Building. Dalhousie University has participated in this international celebration for the past three years.

ITS is pleased to host David Fraser, who is widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading privacy law experts, as one of two keynote speakers. The other is Robert Ellis Smith, a key figure in the global privacy community and designer of one of the cornerstone definitions of privacy.

Students, staff and faculty are welcome to listen and learn from experts in the field of data protection and privacy. With the explosion of social media, learn how to protect your information and avoid common pitfalls.
