Fries with that?

- June 27, 2008

It was a short walk that set the debate in motion: In March, a group of doctors from the QEII Health Sciences Centre crossed the street to Citadel High in support of Nova Scotia schools' healthy eating policy. Going in the other direction were students on the way to the hospital to dine on poutine and pop.

In a story in Metro, a spokesperson for Capital Health responded there are healthy choices at hospital cafeteria too and there would be changes to the menu "sooner rather than later."

And that's not soon enough for cardiologist Rob Stevenson. "Change happens in an instant," he says. "Every day is the perfect day to stop serving fries and doughnuts."
