Dal's United Way Committee asks: What can your hands do?

United Way

My hands can help build a strong city, comfort those in need and shape the future. My hands can also help to make this year's United Way campaign a success.

The Dalhousie University United Way Committee has been busy planning this year's campaign and is eager to continue our success. In an effort to increase participation and strengthen the impact of the campaign, we have determined that October will be United Way Month at Dalhousie and our goal is to increase participation to the campaign by five per cent.

Last year we surpassed our campaign goal and raised over $180,000 for the United Way. In addition, Dalhousie garnered impressive campaign accolades, being among the top three public sector campaigns, being named one of the top five overall campaigns (corporate and public sector) and receiving a third place ranking in the 2004 list of United Way Leaders in a single campaign, with 46 individuals donating $1,000 or more to this worthy organization.

Building upon the success of last year's campaign, we want to raise the number of donations we receive. If every department brought in two new donations we would meet our goal.

Give your time, talents or make a financial contribution - they all help to build a better community. Remember, we're contributing to our community because we live here. Let's all help build a stronger community! For more information on the university's fundraising campaign, go to the following website: http://www.dal.ca/unitedway/
