An Olympian in our midst

Chris Crace

Recently Chris Crace earned the honour of winning a Special Olympics medal. His floor hockey team, Halifax A in the Brill Division, defeated Cobequid with a score of 7 to 5.

Few people would be as well known on campus as Chris Crace; he's been here since 1973. He meets most of the Dalhousie community with his warm smile as he makes his deliveries from the Print Centre, based in the Life Sciences Centre.

This year, the Provincial Winter Special Olympics took place over three days, February 18 to 20 with 340 athletes, 120 coaches and volunteers in attendance. The athletes participated in floor hockey, curling, bowling and skating.

It all wrapped up with an awards banquet at the Shearwater Base. These Provincial Winter Special Olympics take place every two years, while the National Games are held every four years.

Congratulations Chris, on your winning of this very special award.
