Certificates

Do you want to study Environment, Sustainability & Society (ESS) but aren't sure you can fit it into your degree as a Major, Honours or Minor subject? Or perhaps you want to add an additional sustainability credential to your record? A Certificate is a great way to focus your electives and pursue a special area of interest! Courses taken for a Certificate may also count for your other Major/Minor requirements, so it is an efficient way to gain a credential in Sustainability.

The College of Sustainability offers multiple sustainability certificate options:

Certificate in ESS

The Certificate in ESS offers undergraduate students who are not studying ESS as a Major, Honours, or Minor with an opportunity to gain a basic understanding of Sustainability. This certificate is possible in just about all undergraduate degree programs, even those that don’t normally accommodate Certificates! If you want advice for fitting it into your schedule, contact ess.advising@dal.ca.
