Hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Technical Services is responsible for providing computing services, including hardware, software and support, to the Faculty. The team consists of a Help Desk on the first floor of the Goldberg Computer Science Building.  They triage and prioritize tickets and escalate tickets to tier 2 technicians as needed.  The tier 2 technicians and Manager of the team are located on the 3rd floor of the Goldberg building.

This group is also responsible for:

  • systems administration of all Faculty servers and workstations
  • short and long-term planning of all Faculty computing resources
  • procurement and implementation support for research, academic and administrative functions
  • business process analysis and application development as required by the faculty
  • development and documentation of policies regarding equipment usage and services

The Faculty of Computer Science is committed to service excellence to students, research, academic and administrative faculty and staff. The technical services team is committed to supporting the faculty by providing up to date technology, equipment for students via loans as needed, computing infrastructure for academic and administrative use and technical support for research within the faculty.

All requests for technical assistance must be directed to cshelp@cs.dal.ca which enters you into a ticket queue so we can process your requests. 

After hours on call support is available for highly critical system down events only.
