The Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology is excited to announce the following graduating student awards for 2024!

The Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) Outstanding Graduating Student Awards recognize the strength of our graduating students’ sociological research.

Michael Slinger is the recipient of this year’s MA-level CSA award—congratulations, Michael!

Congratulations to Rachel McLeod (Honours BA), our undergraduate-level CSA award winner!

We also heartily congratulate SOSA PhD student Hanika Nakagawa on her CSA award at the University of Manitoba, where she recently completed her MA in Sociology!

The Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA) Outstanding Graduating Anthropology Student Awards recognize the strength of our graduating students’ anthropological research.

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Salas Gonzalez, who has been awarded CASCA’s PhD-level award this year!

Sarah Mingo is the recipient of the CASCA MA-level award—congratulations, Sarah!

And congratulations to Eleanor Waite (Honours BA), this year’s CASCA undergraduate-level award winner!
