SOSA alum Bridgette Norwood (BA Hons SOCI 2023) has just published an article in The Journal for Undergraduate Ethnography, vol. 14 no.1. Drawing on her Honours research, which was co-supervised by Dr Karen Foster and Dr Martha Radice, the article explores the relationship between gender and skateboarding in Halifax, where historically rebellious communities of skateboarders offer a unique safe space for female and non-binary people. At the same time, the community is impacted by a deeply rooted history of hyper-masculine identities. Congratulations, Bridgette!
