We are extremely happy to congratulate the SOSA Undergrdauate Prize and Medal Winners in Spring 2023 Convocation:
SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY
- The University Medal for Social Anthropology, awarded to the student with the highest GPA among those graduating with Honours in Social Anthropology goes to Althea Pilapil.
- The Social Anthropology Prize, a monetary prize awarded to the student who has submitted the best thesis among those graduating with Honours in Social Anthropology goes to Althea Pilapil.
- The Canadian Anthropology Society’s (CASCA) Outstanding Graduating Anthropology Student Award (Bachelor’s level, Dalhousie University) recognizes the strength of the student’s anthropological research and also goes to Althea Pilapil.
- Althea was featured in a King's College graduation story.
SOCIOLOGY
- The Reverend H. S. Prince Prize, a monetary prize awarded to the “extraordinary undergraduate student” who shows the highest level of mastery of and commitment to sociological research, as reflected in both their GPA and their Honours thesis, goes to Bridgette Norwood.
- The Canadian Sociological Association’s (CSA) Outstanding Graduating Sociology Student Award (Bachelor Honours Student, Dalhousie University) recognizes the strength of the student’s sociological research and also goes to Bridgette Norwood. Bridgette's story was featured in DalNews.
- The University Medal for Sociology, awarded to the student with the highest GPA among those graduating with Honours in Sociology goes to Beau Block.
