Meet the 2025‑2026 DAAD Young Ambassador!

Posted by German Department on July 24, 2025 in News

The German Academic Exchange Service, or DAAD (Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst) is a German-funded organization promoting academic study in Germany through a range of research grants, internships and study scholarships. Each year, we are invited to nominate a student with experience of study in Germany to be a ‘Young Ambassador’ of the program, by holding events and providing outreach to promote the amazing opportunity to study in Germany.

This year we are happy to announce that Tasha Moller is the new 2025/2026 Young Ambassador for Dalhousie and King’s. Tasha came to Dalhousie/King’s with quite strong German language ability though her family – and with an enthusiasm for German studies. She has been a very involved and supportive member of the Dalhousie/King’s German student society executive and has already completed a minor in German! She was awarded the Marjorie Mader Study Abroad award in 2022/23 and used it that summer to complete 6 credit hours at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

In the winter semester of 2025 Tasha went on a university exchange to study in Brussels, Belgium, taking courses in Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies. This coming year will be her final year of study at Dalhousie, completing a Major in Sociology and Social Anthropology, with minors in German and Contemporary Studies.

Tasha is fun, creative and approachable: she’s actively involved in student societies on both the Dalhousie and King’s campuses – not to mention she plays in a band! Once she completes the DAAD training in New York City this August, she’ll have lots of information and is looking forward to sharing it with students hoping to find funding for study and research in Germany.
