Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture ‑ Part‑time Academic Position ‑ Animal Health

Position: Part-time Academic position teaching labs for course ANSC3001 (Animal Health) in the 2019 winter semester. The labs for this course are currently scheduled for Monday/Tuesday (9:35-11:35) and Wednesday (12:35-14:25).

Department/Location

Haley Institute, Dalhousie Agricultural Campus.

Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Work Assignment

The incumbent will be responsible for laboratory setup and preparation of equipment, teaching  classroom based lab components, conducting large animal handling labs, including oversight of student safety, and grade laboratory assignments.  Required knowledge of the lab material on the subject matter is preferred.  Familiarity with the Brightspace system to provide information and student assessment is an asset.

Requirements of Position:  

At least one year experience teaching in post-secondary education, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of and experience in livestock behaviour and livestock health.

Must be comfortable working with a variety of animals, ie: sheep, cattle, horses, and overseeing students with limited livestock handling experience.
