To help celebrate and welcome new students to campus, we are profiling some of our current students, faculty and staff that you may meet in your travels on your new path at the Faculty of Agriculture.

Meet Linshan Zhang, a 2017 O-Leader!

Program: Bioresource and Environmental Science, M. Sc. (Agriculture)

Year of Study: 2nd Year, Master Program

Where are you from: Fuzhou, the east coast of China

Tell us more about your background:

I was in a 2 + 2 program where I did my first two years of undergraduate studies at the Fujian Agricultural and Forestry University in China and completed the rest at Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus in Truro. I am a positive and detail-oriented individual. Running and music are two big parts of my life.

Extra-curricular on campus involvement (any clubs, societies, sports team, etc. that you have been a part of):

I was the Vice President of Dalhousie Agricultural International Students Association from Sep, 2014 to Apr, 2015. I am an IT computer lab assistant on Truro Campus. I am also currently working for Dalhousie Management Career Services as the China Work term Liaison.

What do you love about the AC:

I like the small classes where students can easily talk to their professors about questions that they do not fully understand.

What are your academic or career plans for the future:

My current priority is to successfully complete my project and get my Master degree of Agriculture. I would like to develop my career in Universities and work with students. It would be very ideal if it is related to Agriculture.

Favorite hotspot on campus:  Community Garden, Cobequid Trail &Alumni Garden

Must visit place in Truro: Victoria Park
