Congratulations to Jie Yang, Alexandre Samson and Elizabeth Baker for presenting their RESM research projects at the 21st Annual Fisherman and Scientists Research Society Conference this weekend in Truro.
Presenting their research at the conference was an important opportunity to communicate their research findings to the lobster fishing industry. Congratulations to Alexandre Samson, who won first place in the judged student competition with his research poster “Abundance and Prevalence of the Intestinal Parasite Polymorphus botulus in American Lobsters (Homerus americanus) in Nova Scotia.” Congratulations as well to Elizabeth Baker for winning third place in the judged student competition with her poster “Bacterial surveys of haemolymph of the American Lobster (Homerus americanus) in Eastern Nova Scotia”.
Alexandre and Elizabeth took 2/3 top prizes despite the fact that they were competing against MSc and PhD students. Congratulations Alex and Elizabeth!
