The Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia is hosting a one day Aquatic Invasive Species and Disease workshop on January 29th, 2014 in advance of our annual Sea Farmers Conference (held January 30-31) . This industry association which represents aquaculture producers and their support industries in Nova Scotia, is looking to expand their research network and gain contacts specifically within the technology, engineering, biotech and computer sciences as well as continue to grow their collaborations within the natural sciences.
As a first step we are inviting researchers across all disciplines to attend our Aquatic Invasive Species and Disease workshop and hear the current state of regional research initiatives as well as hear priorities outlined from the local aquaculture industry. This initial introduction is meant to spark innovative approaches and new technologies that may be applied to issues impacting industry success. Along with our annual Sea Farmers conference this is the best forum to connect with industry partners across all aquaculture sectors and develop collaborative networks to support research and industrial growth.
Please contact Dr. Vicki Swan, research and development coordinator for the AANS with any questions and see our website (www.aansonline.ca) for registration information.
