Every year the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost facilitates the Dalhousie Rhodes Scholarship Application process with the support of the Dalhousie Rhodes Scholarship Committee to select and coach eligible applicants who seek selection for Dalhousie's endorsement to the Maritime Regional Rhodes Scholarship competition.
A Rhodes Scholarship is tenable at the University of Oxford with election to the Scholarship normally for two years depending on the degree programme pursued by the scholar. Two scholarships are awarded annually to the Maritime Region. We hope, as last year, that Dalhousie sends another scholarship winner to Oxford in 2014.
We encourage faculty, Deans, sports and performing arts coaches to help identify eligible students and encourage them to apply.
The first step for interested students is to submit required documents to begin the internal screening process. The selection criteria that govern this process are intellectual and academic attainment, integrity of character, ability and energy to lead and use their talents to fulfill their potential. Dalhousie University candidates wishing to apply for the 2013 Rhodes Scholarship (for 2014 academic study year) should submit the following documentation to Lisa Nociforo at lisa.nociforo@dal.ca.
- Statement of general interest
- Curriculum Vitae: A factual list of principal activities and honours while in university, including scholarship, prizes, awards, offices held, athletic and/or performance (dance, music, etc.) record, interests and activities
- Unofficial transcripts of all institutions attended
Only eligible candidates will be contacted by the Rhodes coordinator about the next steps in the application process after this initial review.
Please submit these documents by September 15th to:
